the 9th edition of Carmignac Photojournalism Award exhibition and publication of "Arctic: New Frontier" by Kadir van Lohuizen and Yuri Kozyrev. Established in 2009 by Fondation Carmignac, the Carmignac Photojournalism Award funds annually the production of an investigative photo reportage on human rights violations, geostrategic and environmental issues in the world. For the first time in its history, the Carmignac Photojournalism Award was awarded in April 2018 to two photojournalists, Yuri Kozyrev and Kadir van Lohuizen (NOOR), for their pioneering double polar expedition project.
From April to September 2018, the award-winning photojournalists had 6 months to carry out their reportage « Arctic: New Frontier », which focuses on the effects of climate change on the entire Arctic territory, the dramatic transformation of natural landscapes and the demographics in the Arctic, and the impact of these changes on the lives of the region’s inhabitants. « Arctic: New Frontier » will be exhibited at the Cité des sciences et de l'industrie in Paris from November 7-December 9, 2018 and published in a monograph released in November.
